What's a Road Rallye?
The Rallye Committee would like to extend a special invitation to anyone who has not participated in a rallye before. No special equipment is needed. All you'd need is a pen, a friend (your navigator), and the family car. At the end of the rallye, there's usually plenty of good food and other car nuts to socialize with.
Gimmick rallies are a great way to get started. They can often involve as little effort as following driving directions and answering questions about the scenery as you go.
The goal of TSD rallies is to get from point A to point B in the correct amount of time, given specific directions and average speed information. It may sound tricky, but you can conceivably just watch your speedometer, follow the clues and come close to arriving at the right time. There are Rallye Tables available to help if you wish to do the calculations.
Both types are an enjoyable way to spend a weekend afternoon or evening with a friend and your car, cruising the roads of South-Central PA.
Please check the details for each rallye for the starting place.

Rules and Classes PDF | Definitions of Abbreviations PDF | Supp. Rules PDFASCC’S RALLYE SERIES
NOVICE CLASS:
- Open to anyone who has never rallied before.
- Also open to inexperienced teams and/or teams that have not experienced success in their prior efforts.
- Trophies will be provided to top finishing teams (1 trophy for every five cars) for each event.
- Year-end series trophies will be provided to the top three (3) finishers.
- Only (1) Driver and (1) Navigator are allowed per car. The Rallyemaster may sometimes grant exceptions to this rule.
EXPERT CLASS:
- Participants must run in this class if you have won more than six (6) individual events in Novice Class in the last two years.
- Participants must run in this class if you have won the Novice Class year-end trophy.
- More experienced teams are encouraged to run in this class.
- Trophies will be provided to top finishers (1 trophy for every five cars) for each event.
- Year-end series trophies will be provided to the top three (3) finishers.
- Only (1) Driver and (1) Navigator are allowed per car.
NON-COMP:
Generally, this class is for teams with more than (1) Driver and (1) Navigator in the car. Also for any teams that only run rallies occasionally or do not wish to compete. ASCC participation points will be accrued but Rallye Series competition points will not apply. For Rallye Series points competitors, this could be your “throw away” if you wish to have extra passengers in your car.
SCORING, RULES ETC.:
- Only up to five (5) individual events will count for year end points. After five (5) events, lowest scores will be dropped.
- Only the Driver and Navigator will accrue Rallye Series points.
- Rallye teams must run in the class of the most experienced partner.
- Points received in different classes will not be combined. Teams should declare the class in which they wish to compete for the entire series at the time of the first Rallye that they attend.
- Rallyemasters will receive first place points for setting up one, and only one, Rallye per year.
- All members with Rallye experience are encouraged to help with checking a Rallye and/or attending a checkpoint. ASCC participation points will be awarded to members who do so. Checking works well if you know that the date of a Rallye conflicts with your schedule and you will be unable to compete.
- Any questions or conflicts about a Rallye or rules on the day of the event will be dealt with by the following three (3) person committee:
- One of the two Rallye Chairs (Barb or Ken Taggart)
- One of the two Rallyemasters for the event.
- A member of the Rallye Committee who is present, impartial to the dispute (if possible), and selected by the Rallye Chair.
